Building a custom shed with The Shed Specialists Co. is an easy and rewarding process that will leave you with a new custom shed perfect for your unique needs. We wanted to share what to expect and a detailed process with anyone considering having a shed built by our team. 

Initial Enquiry

Once you contact us through our website or direct email, your enquiry will be looked at by one of The Shed Specialists Co. operators in your area. You should be contacted within 2 business days to discuss your project requirements.

Quotes and Planning

After getting all the details about your shed aspirations and what it will be used for, we will prepare a detailed build quote and email it to you. At the same time, we request pricing for materials from our suppliers, and they will send a direct quote to you with no middleman markup. 

Project Confirmation

Once you’re ready to proceed with the project and accept the quote, you will be asked to pay a deposit to your chosen supplier and us to get things started and allocate a start date to your project in our build schedule. 

Project Preparation

Once the deposits are paid, your chosen supplier begins organising your project's plans and required materials. To make things easier, some suppliers or our team can handle consent on your behalf if necessary.

Project Start

Once the engineered/consented plans are finalised, your place in the build schedule is re-confirmed, ensuring a smooth transition into the construction phase.

Site Visit

Our site manager will contact you before the scheduled construction week to arrange a site visit. This visit is crucial for marking out the exact location of your shed according to the plans and addressing any questions you may have.

Groundwork and Preparation

Our site works team will drill holes on site in preparation for inspections, if necessary. They will also prepare for the shed construction team's arrival. 

The Construction Starts!

The Shed Specialists Co. team arrives to begin construction. This involves standing the poles, installing rafters, and preparing to concretise the poles into the ground. If you have a concrete slab laid, our team will box and prep the area for the concrete truck and placer.

Framing and Cladding

About a week after the slab is laid, our team will return to frame and clad the walls of your shed. This includes creating openings for roller doors, windows, and personal access doors as needed (windows and personal access doors are framed and fitted; roller doors are only framed by our team).

Final Inspections and Invoice

Once the walls are up, The Shed Specialists Co. team will complete their part of the project. If required, final inspections will be booked, and you'll receive your final invoice at this stage.

Installation of Roller Doors

Finally, roller door installers will come in to complete the installation, ensuring your shed is fully functional and ready for use.
